Thoughts About Connect
Reading a book about putting, here’s an excerpt I can really latch onto.
“By process goals, we mean the preparatory things an individual can do to maximize the chance of peak performance in any endeavor, whether it be selling stocks and bonds or making putts. We don’t mean results.”
In this context, it’s the pre-putt routine process. Making that consistent will increase the chances of success in the outcome.
I didn’t have a name for it until now, but I’ve been trying to do this in other arenas over the past two years. For me, it’s filling my calendar with things that help achieve the results I want by default.
Ex. Gym 3x week. I don’t really have a fitness goal, but I want to be fit.
Ex. Portuguese tutoring 2x week. There’s no, “I want to be fluent”, but if I practice, I will improve.
This piece captures my thoughts and perspectives at the time of writing. As I continue to learn and grow, my views are subject to change, without notice.
