Thoughts About Connect
This post will be outdated, but I wanted to log what I first experienced.
I was pumped to try out Bard this morning, particularly because of the browsing capabilities. Real time internet access is will be a huge unlock for AI.
But I’ve been disappointed thus far. The generation capabilities are fine, but getting useful data using browsing isn’t there.
Ex. I give it a golf booking website. Confirm it can access the website. I ask for available tee times. What it gives me is completely wrong, in the wrong timezone. No prompt tweaking could get us there. Even asking for the raw output didn’t render anything of value.
Ex. I was searching for a reference to collecting and connecting dots I’d heard before. It couldn’t get me there. I ended up finding the source in my own notes database.
