Thoughts About Connect
A process cannot be understood by stopping it. Understanding must move with the flow of the process, must join it and flow with it. - Frank Herbert. Dune.
This stuck out to me.
I can see an assembly line, like from one of the How It’s Made episdoes where they make chocolate candies or something. In the show, the video is always showing the assembly line moving. Can you imagine if you just saw it stopped. You’d have no idea what any of the machines did or even which direction the line moved.
Might be making a stretch here, but there’s an analogy to business I like as well. Not so much the process of business, but more the forming of an understanding of what works and what doesn’t. This can only be done when things are put in place and something is started. Only then can it be better understood, iterated, and improved. You can’t improve something that isn’t on.
